God's Word is a Light Unto My Path

"The unfolding of God's Word gives light,

Yes, even you! The Word of God is so clear and light-giving that even the simple find understanding. It does not take great intellect or mental powers to benefit from God’s word.

"It is painful to remember how much light may be shining around us on every side, without finding an entrance into the heart" (Bridges)   

His words are the doorway through which light shines to impart discernment to an otherwise naive people. We cannot live better without God’s unfolding light.

God’s Word imparts to us understanding for moral instruction. Not only do we need this, but we also long for it. “I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commandments”       (Psalms. 119:131 ESV).
