but the Lord Directs His Steps

Don't worryHeaded in a new direction, I wonder how many times I've proclaimed that phrase to all that would listen.

Lord, Thank you for all the opportunities you have laid in my path, doors you have closed and new ones you have opened.
"In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."
Proverbs 16:9
Knowing what to do and how to do it in a new endeavor is difficult, and the learning curve sometimes a bit steep. That's why I love knowing that things aren't always just random chance, that the Lord is behind me pushing me in the right direction. Finding that comfort place at the age of 62 will be a gift.
"Be strong. therefore, and let not your hands be weak and slack, for your work shall be rewarded."
2 Chronicles 15:7
Seize the day, starting today.
My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises.
Psalms 119:148

A Lesson in Love Happy Valentine's Day

"When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand, where the winds of forgiveness can erase it away.  But when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone, where no wind can ever erase it."

"Love... keeps no record of wrongs" (1 Corinthians 13:5b)

Eric Elder of The Ranch, said this week,"In Paul's letter to the Romans, he includes more than a dozen statements about what love looks like when it's sincere.
- Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.
- Honor one another above yourselves.
- Share with God's people who are in need.
- Practice hospitality.
- Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
- Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
- Live in harmony with one another.
- Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.
- Do not be conceited.
- Do not repay anyone evil for evil.
- Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.
- If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
- Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath
- Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good

Love is the greatest power in the world, but
Romans 12:9 says, Love must be sincere.
and James 3:17,  But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere
What if we, as Christians, were so filled with the Holy Spirit that people could immediately tell that we’re Christians simply by the love and joy that radiates from within us?In Loving Sencerity

And the Greatest of these is Love

February is the month of Love, said very well by Sandi  Patty

Love in any Language
Straight from the heart
Pulls us all together
Never apart
And once we learn to speak it
All the world will hear
Love in any language
Fluently spoken here

Genesis 29:20
So Jacob worked seven years to pay for Rachel. But his love for her was so strong that it seemed to him but a few days. (NLT)

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. (NIV)
1 John 3:18
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. (NIV)

1 Corinthians 13:13
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. (NLT)

What makes love so amazing? For starters, it is what motivated the Father to send His only Son to die for us. Without love, there would have been no redemption for mankind. Not only would we be without love, but without the redemption that was precipitated by love, there would also be no faith, and no hope. You see, nothing else matters, without love. It is foundational for every other good thing in our lives.
