One often has to make tough decisions in life. Many of us face times when an important decision has to be made, but the right path isn't clear.
Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.
Psalm 37:23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delights in his way.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him
Isaiah 30:21
And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.
Thankfully, the weight of the big decisions doesn't rest on our shoulders alone. God should be our constant companion, to provide wisdom as we seek Him in prayer. Often, a particular Scripture verse that we read or that comes to mind will guide us to the right course of action.
In addition, God instructs us to seek wise counsel from other people.
"For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers" Proverbs 11:14
"Walk with the wise and become wise" Proverbs 13:20
When the weight of big decisions come, we don't have to face it alone. We call upon God, and we can turn to our brothers and sisters in Christ to sharpen and advise us
